Dr Nicola Yeboah
MBBS (Medical Doctorate) London
The clinic’s managing partner, Dr Yeboah has practiced at our
clinic for over 20 years following her medical training in the
UK. Her areas of special interest are perimenopause and
lifestyle medicine.
She studied medicine at the University of London (University
College Hospital ), and underwent a general practice rotation
including pediatrics, elderly medicine and emergency medicine.
She has completed further training in Women’s Health including
management of the perimenopause and menopause. Dr Yeboah is
fluent in German.

Dr Thomas Lomax
MBBS (Medical Doctorate) London, BSc, DRCOG, MRCGP(UK)
A UK-trained GP and partner in the clinic, Dr Lomax has
special interests in minor surgery and sports medicine, and
has practiced at Tokyo Medical and Surgical clinic for over 15
years.
He graduated from London University (Royal Free Hospital) in
2000 and worked in Surgery and Emergency Medicine in St
George’s Hospital, London, for five years. Subsequently trained
in general practice, gaining experience in Psychiatry and a
doctorate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Passed the MRCGP
(Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners)
exam in 2008 and shortly after moved to Tokyo where he has
practiced since.

Dr Ivor Cammack
MBChB (Medical Doctorate) New Zealand FRNZGP
A Kiwi-British GP and partner in the clinic, Dr Cammack has a
specialist interests in sports medicine and injury management,
and speaks fluent French.
He completed training in New Zealand and practiced injury and
general medicine in a ski resort in Hokkaido for several years
before moving to Tokyo in 2020. He has postgraduate
qualifications in Pediatrics, Palliative care and Medical
education. Ivor lived in France and speaks fluent French.

Dr Gautam Deshpande
MA, MD, FACP
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Deshpande is a U.S.-trained and
board certified internal medicine physician. A partner at the
Clinic, he has special interests in undiagnosed illness,
infectious disease, and autoimmune conditions.
After receiving a BA/MA in Human Biology and Anthropology from
Stanford University, he completed his MD at Penn State
University College of Medicine, followed by an internal
medicine residency at UC-San Diego. He has practiced in Japan
since 2009.
As well as his partnership at Tokyo Medical and Surgical
Clinic, he maintains a Clinical Assistant Professorship at the
University of Hawaii and is a Professor of General Medicine at
Juntendo University.

Dr Nicholas Rennick
MBBS (Medical Doctorate), FRACGP, Sydney Child Health Program
An Australian GP, Dr Rennick has a special interest in
pediatrics, and management of chronic conditions such as
hypertension, cholesterol and diabetes. He offers consultation
in both English and Japanese.
He graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School in
2015, and then went on to complete specialist training in
General Practice in Perth.
As a father of three young children, Dr Rennick particularly
enjoys looking after children, and has completed the
post-graduate Sydney Child Health Program. He is fluent in
Japanese, and in addition to his partnership at Tokyo Medical
and Surgical Clinic is active in teaching Japanese medical
students.

Dr Ryu Sasae
BMBS (Medical Doctorate), MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP
A UK-trained GP, Dr Sasae is currently the director of the
Department of International Healthcare at NTT Medical Center
Tokyo. He offers consultation in English and Japanese.
He graduated from Nottingham University (UK) in 2005 and
obtained his nMRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of
General Practitioners) in 2010. Dr Sasae practiced as a GP in
London until 2017.

Dr Hiro Uematsu
MD, AAFP
A US-board certified family physician, Dr Uematsu completed
his family medicine residency in Illinois before returning to
Japan. He also has an active role in teaching medical students
and junior doctors.
Dr. Uematsu graduated from Aichi Medical University in 2006
and completed his family medicine residency at Southern
Illinois University in 2014.
He is a licensed family physician in the U.S. (American Board
of Family Medicine) and Japan with special interests in point-of-care ultrasonography. Currently, he practices in a
community hospital and clinic and shares his expertise with
medical students and residents.
Gastroenterology

Dr Shina Horiuchi
MD, PhD
A gastroenterologist with extensive training and experience in
Japan and the USA, Dr. Horiuchi has completed more than 20,000
endoscopies/colonoscopies throughout her career as a
specialist.
With a PhD in Colon Cancer Studies and several years of
research to draw upon, Dr. Horiuchi’s main interest is
providing compassionate, state-of-the-art specialized care to
local/international patients suffering from gastrointestinal
cancer and IBDs such as ulcerative colitis.

Dr Yoshihito Sakata
MD, FSCAI, FACC
A US-board certified cardiologist, Dr Sakata completed medical
school in Japan before finishing his residency and fellowship
in the US. He currently works as Director of the Heart Center
at Ikegami General Hospital in Tokyo.
Graduated from Hokkaido University School of Medicine, and
completed postgraduate studies at Hokkaido University Graduate
School of Medicine.

Dr Takeshi Ouchi
MD, PhD
Graduated from Keio University in Japan, and completed a
Post-doctoral fellowship in the US. As well as extensive
experience in general dermatology, Dr Ouchi has a specialist
interest in skin surgery.

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr Kazunori Nagasaka
MD, PhD
An obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Nagasaka is currently
chief professor and chairman of the department of obstetrics
and gynecology at Teikyo University.
He graduated from Ehime University in 2000, and the University
of Tokyo in 2008. Dr. Nagasaka has lived in Texas, USA, and
worked in Italy as a researcher on HPV infections. He speaks
English and a little Italian.
Dr. Nagasaka sees a wide range of gynecological problems as
well as delivering routine obstetric care. He specialises in
gynaecological oncology, perinatal medicine, general
gynaecology, endometriosis treatment, reproductive medicine
and infertility. Additionally, he is certified in laparoscopic
and hysteroscopic surgery and robot-assisted surgery.

Dr Kaeko Takahashi
MD
An obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr Takahashi trained at
Miyazaki university in Kyushu for more than 10 years, and has
also spent 2 years researching at the University of
California.
She currently works at Sugiyama OBGYN in Setagaya, Tokyo.
Orthopedics

Dr Kazuhisa Takahashi
An orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal conditions, Dr
Takahashi graduated from Chiba University before researching
at the Mayo Clinic in the US.
Dr Takahashi graduated from School of Medicine, Chiba
University in 1976. He then studied orthopedic biomechanics at
Mayo Clinic from 1980 through 1981 as a research fellow.
He was granted a Ph.D. degree in 1982 from Chiba University
and was the Professor and Chairman of the Department of
Orthopedic Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba
University until March of 2016. His specialty is spinal
orthopedics, with a particular interest in low back pain

Dr Hiroshi Iwaso
An orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder
conditions, Dr Iwaso has extensive experience in sports trauma
as a doctor for J-league soccer team
and a Japanese American Football team.
Graduated from Tohoku University in 1986, Dr Iwaso has
performed over 1300 shoulder joint surgeries and over 500 knee
surgeries, with a focus on ACL reconstructive surgery.
Ophthalmology

Dr Annabelle Okada
MD (USA), PhD (Japan)
A US board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr Okada graduated from
Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in Boston.
She is currently professor of Opthalmology at Kyorin
University School of Medicine.
She graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School,
and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts
Eye and Ear Infirmary (Boston), uveitis fellowship at the
Tokyo Medical University, and retina fellowship at Osaka
University.
Dr. Okada is board-certified in ophthalmology in both the U.S.
and Japan.
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)

Dr Keitaro Nagano
MD
An Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who works across the full
spectrum of the specialty, Dr Nagano is able to offer
treatment for both adults and children for a wide range of
acute and chronic ear, nose and throat issues.
After graduating from Kyushu University with a degree in
Dentistry, he specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at
Kumamoto University before obtaining his medical degree from
Oita University. Currently, he also works at the Department of
Otorhinolaryngology at Ageo Central General Hospital in
Saitama.
Urology

Dr Shigeo Horie
MD
A urologist with extensive international experience, Dr Horie
is the chairman of the Urology Department of the Juntendo
University School of Medicine, and one of the leading robotic
surgeons in Asia.
He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1985 then did his
research and clinical fellowship at the UT Southwestern
medical center at Dallas. He was subsequently appointed to the
faculties of the University of Tokyo, the National Cancer
Center Hospital, and Kyorin University. In 2003, he became the
chairman of the Department of Urology of Teikyo University.
He specializes in uro-oncology, urinary dysfunction, and men’s
health, and has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers.
