Items to bring

  1. 1) Original valid passport
  2. 2) “MEDICAL REPORT- CLIENT BIODATA AND SUMMARY” from Canadian Immigration and Citizenship (CIC). (Not required for “upfront medical” applicants applying under the category of student/ visitor/ worker.)
  3. 3) Pregnant or possibly pregnant applicants should bring a document to certify pregnancy with expected delivery date (please inform our staff when making your appointment).
  4. 4) Applicants with serious medical condition(s) should bring a medical report with detailed information noting treatment and/or prognosis in English from their treating doctor.
  5. 5) “Mother and Child’s book” (if available) for children 6 years old and under.
  6. 6) Glasses or contact lenses (if worn). Corrected vision must be better than 0.5, 20/40 or 6/12 in the better eye.
  7. 7) Vaccination records, including for COVID-19 (if available)

** Please bring printed hard copies of all proofs/ documents (e.g. medical certificates, vaccination records) Digital files, photos, or apps cannot be accepted **

Precautions

  • Examinations are performed by appointment only (no walk-ins).
  • A valid passport is required for this examination. We will not be able to perform the examination without a valid passport.
  • Fasting is not required for this examination.
  • Photos will be taken on site.
  • Please come at the set appointment time. Examinations cannot be started early for those who come early. Please avoid coming in more than 30 min before your appointment time.
  • The examination will take approximately 2 hours (for one applicant). Applicants will be called in order of appointment time (not in the order of arrival or check in).
  • Female applicants may undergo the medical during menstruation.
  • Please inform our staff if you are pregnant.
  • Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Required visa details

Please note that as Canadian visas are processed electronically in eMedical, we need to know the specific details of the type of visa at the time of appointment. This requires either:

  • A IME/UCI number (from CIC)

OR

  • A specific upfront medical visa category (Worker/Student/Visitor)

If you do not have these details, we will not be able to make your appointment.

Chest Xray

When taking the chest Xray, you will be asked to remove all clothing covering the upper body (including underwear). Please avoid clothing that cannot be taken off quickly. Pregnant applicants are not exempt from the Xray requirement. In this case, the Chest Xray can be performed with abdominal shielding. Alternatively, the applicant can delay the visa examination until after the pregnancy.

Examination Results

All results will be sent electronically directly to the Canadian Immigration and Citizenship (CIC) via eMedical. The result will be sent within 3-4 working days (not including Saturdays/ Sundays/holidays). If there is an abnormal finding in your examination, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Our office is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm Saturday.

When you arrive at the clinic, please check in directly at the 2nd floor Physical Examinations Room (Room 15).
