Items to Bring

  1. 1) Original valid passport
  2. 2) HAP ID Referral letter or Health Examination list from the Australian Embassy. (Printed copy)
  3. 3) Proof of pregnancy (medical certificate/ mother-baby book with expected delivery date) for pregnant or possibly pregnant applicants.
  4. 4) Applicants with history of TB or serious medical condition(s) should bring a medical report with detailed information noting treatment and/or prognosis in English from their treating doctor.
  5. 5) “Mother and Child’s book” (if available) for children 6 years old and under.
  6. 6) Glasses or contact lenses (if worn). Corrected vision must be better than 0.5, 20/40 or 6/12 in the better eye.
  7. 7) Vaccination records (if applicable- see Precautions below Regarding Polio Virus)
  8. 8) Vaccination records, including for COVID-19 (if available)

** Please bring printed hard copies of all proofs/ documents (e.g. medical certificates, vaccination records) Digital files, photos, or apps cannot be accepted **

Precautions

  • Examinations are performed by appointment only (no walk-ins).
  • Fasting is not required for this examination.
  • Photos will be taken on site.
  • Please come at the set appointment time. Examinations cannot be started early for those who come early. Please avoid coming in more than 30 min before your appointment time.
  • The examination will take approximately 2 hours (for one applicant). Applicants will be called in order of appointment time (not in the order of arrival or check in).
  • Female applicants may undergo the medical during menstruation.
  • Please inform our staff if you are pregnant.
  • Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Chest Xray

When taking the chest Xray, you will be asked to remove all clothing covering the upper body (including underwear). Please avoid clothing that cannot be taken off quickly. Pregnant applicants are not exempt from the Xray requirement. In this case, the chest Xray can be performed with abdominal shielding. Alternatively, the applicant can delay the visa examination until after the pregnancy.

** In accordance with Australian guidelines, a chest x-ray examination cannot be performed if the pregnancy is less than 14 weeks. In this case, the visa checkup will be postponed until at least after 14 weeks gestation **

Examination Results

All results will be sent electronically directly to the Department of Australian Immigration and Citizenship via eMedical. The result will be sent within 3-4 working days (not including Saturdays/ Sundays/holidays). If there is an abnormal finding in your examination, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Our office is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm Saturday.

When you arrive at the clinic, please check in directly at the 2nd floor Physical Examinations Room (Room 15).
