Kazuhisa Takahashi – spinal specialist

Graduated from School of Medicine, Chiba University in 1976. He studied orthopedic biomechanics at Mayo Clinic from 1980 through 1981 as a research fellow. He was granted Ph.D. degree in 1982 from Chiba University and was the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba University until March of 2016. His specialty is spinal orthopedics, with a particular interest in low back pain.

Hiroshi Iwaso – knee and shoulder specialist

Graduated from Tohoku University in 1986. Dr Iwaso has performed over 1300 shoulder joint surgeries and over 500 knee surgeries, with a focus on ACL reconstructive surgery. He has extensive experience in sports trauma and is the exclusive doctor for a J-league soccer team and a Japanese American Football league.

Yoh Kumano – spinal specialist

Graduated from The University of Tokyo in 1995 and Niigata University in 2001. He works as director of Orthopedic Surgery in Sagamihara National Hospital and Sangubashi Spine Surgery Hospital. Dr Kumano has studied spinal surgery in Bordeaux University, France; the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital, UK and Stanford University, US. He is a member of the Japanese Orthopedic Association, the Japan Society for the Study of Surgical Technique for Spine and Spinal Nerves and the Japanese Society for Spinal Surgery and Related Research.

Tatsuya Takahashi – knee, foot and ankle specialist

Graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 2008. Dr Takahashi’s clinical interests include knee, foot and ankle and arthroscopic surgery as well as sports medicine. He is a member of the Japanese Orthopedic Association; Japan Society for Surgery of the Foot; Japan Society of Knee, Arthroscopic and Sports Medicine and the Japan Society of Clinical Sports Medicine.

Nobuhiko Sumiyoshi – orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist

Graduated from Kagoshima University in 2004 and subsequently completed his training in the US and Japan. Dr. Sumiyoshi has practiced medicine both domestically as well as internationally. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Southern Illinois University and Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma. He has worked at various hospitals across Japan, including the US Naval Hospital in Okinawa. He is a member of the Japanese Orthopedic Association and is also a licensed sports physician in the US and Japan.
